About Worksop & the Local Area

A unique market town in Nottinghamshire, Worksop is known as the ‘gateway to the Dukeries’ and boasts several Ducal estates. Some of the Ducal estates Worksop is associated with are Clumber Park and Wellbeck Abbey, to name a few.

There are many local attractions in the town, alongside places to stay. In Worksop town centre, the Priory Church is an important landmark. Dating back over 900 years ago, much of the original building was destroyed under the dissolution of monasteries. It was later carefully restored.

Close to the town centre is the Chesterfield Canal, popular for day trips and leisurely walks. Furthermore, you will find a wide range of hotels, B&Bs and more in and around the local area.
